Favourite Song on "The Hearth and The Hive"?

Postby Stevieannie » Tue Feb 16, 2010 4:51 pm

It's a self-explanatory thread title, really. What's your favourite track from the new album?

I adore "World's End" - it's obviously the theme song from a film that I'd really enjoy watching... However, the enchanting bassoon and cello on "When I Was a Mermaid" is gorgeous too...

Oooh, decisions, decisions! What's your favourite?

With Hearth and Hive it is difficult to choose any single favorite. Worlds End is certainly haunting - it evokes visions akin to the old TV show, Survivors (the original show, not the sloppier recent version) with people reverting to basic skills. It never fails to send a shiver down my spine. That said, there is also Blackthorn Winter, which brings the crispness of a rural winter.

My Lady Of The Underpass is also haunting, mingling spirituality within an urban landscape. Kitchen Heroes reminds us of our reliance on modern tecnoligy, as does Wolf At Your Door.

As I said. Choosing one song is impossible.
